Gul Sayyar
Founder and President
As a Founder and President of SMART Innovative Accountants LLC, Mr. Gul Sayyar brings over 14 years of diverse experience in both the public and private sectors. He is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), committed to enhancing financial management, internal controls, and organizational efficiency. His expertise spans across industries including energy, telecommunications, real estate, non-profits, and healthcare, with in-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, IFRS, IPPF and IIA standards.
Gul leads a strong, cross-functional team, providing clients with strategic financial advisory that prioritizes risk mitigation, operational excellence, and compliance. He is passionate about developing robust financial frameworks that empower organizations to achieve sustainable growth. His work includes developing accounting systems, supporting audit processes, financial reporting, conducting risk assessments, and developing internal controls all aimed at improved efficiency, reduced cost, and achieved compliances.

Safiullah Nekzad
Co-founder and Vice President
As a co-founder and vice president of SMART Innovative Accountants LLC, Mr. Safiullah brings over 15 years of extensive experience in federal audits, accounting, internal controls process assessments, project management and advisory. As a former key professional at KPMG and EY, Mr. Safiullah has consistently delivered outstanding results across a variety of assignments, which have significantly enhanced his knowledge and expertise in U.S GAAP, GAAS, and IFRS.
Mr. Safiullah graduated with a degree in accounting from Geroge Mason, His hands-on experience at EY and KPMG has enabled him to develop advanced skills in utilizing innovative technologies and tools, such as GenAI, Audit Chat, Alteryx, Power-Bi, eAudit, Clara Workflow (KCw), and Canvas to streamline auditing processes and enhance operational efficiency. He possesses comprehensive knowledge and extensive experience across the federal, non-profit, public, and private sectors.
In addition to his technical proficiency, Mr. Safiullah is a dedicated mentor who has coached and trained numerous accountants and auditors at KPMG and EY. His leadership and commitment to professional development have been key to driving team excellence.
